I must say I really, really, really like this park. Paved walk ways, water fountains & trees galore. Never been before, so this is my first time. A lot larger and expansive than I anticipated. So bring water for yourself and your canine. I also always carry snacks for the both of us. Lots of shade, great view of DTLA and of course people watching is available. I saw runners, bicyclists, walkers, babies in strollers, etc.

Parking is not an issue and there's a lake /reservoir and it's adjacent to Dodger Stadium. This is listed as Los Angeles' first park. The second largest only to Griffith Park. LAPD has their training grounds here and use it frequently for physical training. I saw them out and about running the hills when we were there. That brings me to hills . . . yes there are hills here. Great opportunity for getting your cardio in also.

So wether you're here to get your cardio on or take the pup for a nice brisk walk - this is a less crowded venue than Runyon Canyon or Griffith Park. Where expansive views & cool breezes call your name.

Elysian Park is a park and adjacent neighborhood in the City of Los Angeles, California. Encompassing Chavez Ravine where Dodger Stadium is located, Elysian Park is mostly a hillside community that is also home to the Los Angeles Police Academy.
