So, would you know what to do if your pet was in a medical crisis situation? According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), 92% of dogs and cats will experience an emergency in their lifetime, and 1 out of 4 pets would survive if just one pet first aid technique was applied prior to getting emergency veterinary care. Pet first aid is the immediate care given to a pet that is suddenly ill or injured until it can be transported to a veterinarian for medical attention. Knowing these skills and techniques can make a difference between life and death—giving your pet a fighting chance to survive. You will learn: • How conduct a primary assessment in an emergency situation • How to safely restrain and muzzle an ill or injured pet • The skills of canine and feline CPR and rescue breathing • How to manage choking, bleeding, and shock incidents • Heat and cold injury protocols • Action steps for insect bites, stings, and snake bites • The daily Snout-To-Tail™ wellness assessment to gauge your pet’s health vitals • How to prepare a pet first aid kit • And much more!
