Amazing view! This is the peak of Griffith Park. The view is awesome and it's always full of fellow dog owners. It gets hot in the summer, so wear sun screen... otherwise, get on it. You're dog and legs will love you!

It depends on your canine companion as to whether this hike is strenuous or just a walk in the park. For my Bulldog, Miley we mostly stick to the more level areas. However if you have a breed who's less bronchial challenged, then you most likely can make the whole trail. I'd bring plenty of water, especially this time of the year. Along with sunscreen and snacks of course :) Keep an eye out for snakes, although I have yet to see any there. Now watch, I'll see one. I always pack a small medical kit for animals and thankfully I've never had to use it for her, but I have provided some items to others.

The great thing about Griffith Park is the variety of trails, shade offered and that feeling of being out of the city when you are actually right in the middle. Miley and I sometimes stop at the cafe for a bite to eat and so she can hydrate.

Lovely views on top at sunset. AllTrails route is real tricky!! I did it anti clockwise, and the route got dicey right before Mt Glendale, also it was dark. I ditched it and followed the crowd on a diff route, added an extra mile and made it. Trail Shoes and headlamps (for sunset hike) recommended

Simple, heavily trafficked but good views of Hollywood sign and downtown.

The part that was actual trail was great. However, the first part was following a drain pipe in the bushes and with the recent rain was not safe. Stick to the marked official trails and you’ll be fine ignore the rest of this attempt of a route.

Mt. Hollywood Trail in Griffith Park is an excellent dog friendly hike in Los Angeles. This dog friendly hike is a 3 mile loop that will provide you and your pooch some of the best views of the Hollywood Sign and surrounding Los Angeles you can find. Your dog must remain on their leash during the hike and please be sure to pick up after your dog. Be sure to bring water and watch out for wildlife and snakes. This hike connects with the Charlie Turner Trail.
