DogSniffer, LLC (“DogSniffer,” “we” or “us”) has implemented this Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) for its DogSniffer.com website (the “Website”) to provide our registered users (“Members”) and unregistered users and visitors (collectively “Users” or “you”) information regarding the collection and use of your information on the Website, so that you can make an informed decision about your use of the Website.

The Information We Collect

1.  Personal Information:
We’ll ask you to provide certain information if you choose to register with DogSniffer, including your name, email address and your date of birth, address, and other information (collectively “Personally Identifiable Information”). You can also import your personal information from a third party to make the DogSniffer registration process easier. We use your signup location to help target the Website to the town you live in.

Do not supply to us or disclose on the Website any Personally Identifiable Information of any person under 13 years of age, as we do not intend to collect information from anyone under 13 or invite to them to participate in the Website.

You may also provide Personally Identifiable Information to include in your profile to tell others about yourself, or when taking advantage of promotions, responding to surveys, or subscribing to newsletters or other lists.

Our Website may offer its users to the opportunity to post reviews, and use bulletin board blogs and chat rooms. If you choose to use these features, you should be aware that any Personally Identifiable Information you submit through these features can be read, collected, or used by other viewers of these forums and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the Personally Identifiable Information you choose to submit in these forums.

2.  Anonymous Information:
a.  Cookies: DogSniffer uses cookies to collect information for record keeping purposes and make it easier to navigate the Website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on users’ hard drives. We will not use cookies to collect personal information without getting your permission. DogSniffer uses both “session ID cookies” and “persistent cookies.” Session ID cookies are used to store information while a user is logged into the site and expire when the user closes their browser. Persistent cookies are used to make tasks like logging into the site easier for returning users by remembering a user’s login information. Persistent cookies stay on a user’s hard drive from one session to the next.

You may choose not to receive cookies from DogSniffer by following instructions in your web browser’s “help” file, but this may make certain features of the Services inaccessible to you.

b.  Clear GIFs: When visiting our Website, we may also use “Clear GIFs” (aka “web beacons” or “pixel tags”) or similar technologies in our Website and/or in our communications with you. A Clear GIF is typically a one-pixel, transparent image located on a web page or in an e-mail or other type of message, which helps us to verify an individual’s viewing or receipt of a web page or message. Clear GIFs allow us to know whether you have viewed a web page prior to visiting our Website and may enable us to relate such information to other information, including your Personally Identifiable Information. We use information provided from Clear GIFs to enable more accurate reporting, improve the effectiveness of our marketing, and make our Website better for our users.

c.  IP Address and Clickstream Data: DogSniffer also collects Users’ IP addresses and basic log file information (such as address, browser type and language, number of clicks, domain names of web sites visited, pages viewed, the amount of time spent on particular pages, and the date and time) to help locate potential problems with our server, and to aggregate general user statistics including demographic and geographical information. We use this information to analyze general usage patterns, and to provide advertisements and other services appropriate to the user’s location. DogSniffer may aggregate user information in a non-personally identifiable manner to share with advertisers and to enhance the Website with new features.

3.  Content Posted:
a.  Public Content: You can contribute to the Website in a number of different ways, including writing reviews, uploading photos, participating in talk threads, filling out your public profile, and voting on other users’ contributions. We may store these contributions (your “Public Content”), display them to other users, and use them for promotional purposes. Note that if you include Personally Identifiable Information in your Public Content, it can be used and viewed by others. We are not responsible for the information you choose to include in your Public Content.

b.  Sharing Public Content with Third Party Services: We allow you to access third party services, such as Facebook and Twitter, to share your selected Public Content with those services, and import information about who you are connected with on those other services so you can connect with them on the Website. You can always opt out on your DogSniffer account page.

How We Use Your Information

1.  Personal Information:
If you submit information to us through the Website, including registration and profile information, then we use this information to operate, maintain, and provide the features and functionality of the Website. DogSniffer will use your email address to complete the signup process. By providing DogSniffer your email address you consent to our using the email address to send you Service-related notices, including among other things notices required by law, in lieu of postal mail. You may not opt out of Service-related e-mails. We may also use your email address to send you other messages, including changes to DogSniffer features and special offers. If you do not want to receive such email messages, you may opt out by changing your account settings or by sending mail to the following postal address:

Opting out may prevent you from receiving email messages regarding updates, improvements, or special offers.

2.  Anonymous Information:
We use non-Personally Identifiable Information, such as anonymous Website use data and IP addresses, to improve the quality and design of the Website and to create new features and services by storing, tracking, and analyzing your preferences and trends. We may use such information to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your current or subsequent visits to the Website; (b) provide customized content and information; (c) monitor the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors and traffic; (d) diagnose or fix technology problems; (e) access your information after you sign in; (f) market our Website to advertisers and other third parties; (g) aggregate general User and Member statistics including demographic and geographic information; and (h) other purposes for which your personal identity is not revealed.

3.  Posted Information:
Any information or Content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to public areas of the Website (for instance, in a forum or by commenting on a blog post) becomes available to the public.

4.  Information From Third Party Services:
Some third party services, such as Facebook and Twitter, may also provide us with information from your accounts there to enhance and personalize your use of this Website. For example, you can allow Facebook to tell us who your Facebook friends are so you can follow their activity on DogSniffer. You can adjust your DogSniffer privacy settings to block this feature, in which case we will delete the information that we receive from your accounts with those other services. You can also further modify your privacy settings with those other services directly. For example, you can adjust your privacy setting on Facebook here to prevent your Facebook friends from sharing information about you from their Facebook accounts with DogSniffer.

When We Share Information

DogSniffer will not share your email address with advertisers or unaffiliated third parties without first obtaining your express permission.

We may provide information, including personal information, to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies, or subcontractors, so such parties can, among other things (a) perform services and/or process such information on our behalf, (b) use the information to offer greater functionality and enhanced services through the Website, and provide you with additional product and service opportunities, and (c) communicate these opportunities to you. When we do this, the recipients of your information are bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy.

We share non-Personally Identifiable Information (such as anonymous Website use data) with third-parties to assist them in understanding our Website, including Users’ use of our Website and the services we provide and the success of advertisements and promotions.

We may release your information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state or federal laws or respond to a court order, subpoena, law enforcement or regulatory request, or search warrant. We reserve the right to collect and share any information: in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities; as appropriate or necessary to enforce our Terms of Use or investigate potential or actual violations of the Terms of Use or Privacy Policy; take precautions against liability; to protect the security or integrity of our Website; to exercise or protect the rights, property, or the rights and personal safety of DogSniffer affiliates, Users or others; or for other legitimate purposes.

We may assign or transfer the information we collect to a third party in the event that DogSniffer is acquired by or merged with a third party entity, or due to our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or similar situation. We reserve the right to transfer any information we have about you in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets. Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use personal information you have provided through this Website in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Statement.

Information Collected by Third Parties

Third-party ad servers or ad networks may serve advertisements on the Website. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on the Website. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content.

DogSniffer does not provide any Personally Identifiable Information to these third-party ad servers or ad networks without your consent. However, please note that if an advertiser asks DogSniffer to show an advertisement to a certain audience or audience segment and you respond to that advertisement, the advertiser or ad-server may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach.

You should consult the respective privacy policies of these third-party ad servers or ad networks. The DogSniffer Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, such advertisers. Some of the third-party advertising companies may be advertising networks that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative, which offers a single location to opt out of ad targeting from member companies (www.networkadvertising.org).
