In the 1930s, a group of Nazi sympathizers bought a parcel of land deep in the Santa Monica mountains. Cut off from the rest of American society, they awaited the "inevitable" German triumph in World War II to come out of hiding...

Join ATID on Sunday, July 16th at 9am as we explore the ruins of the old Murphy Ranch and take in the view on nearby Sullivan Ridge. This moderate down-then-up hike is 4 miles round trip with ~800ft of elevation gain is expected to take just over 2 hours.

In accordance with Sinai Temple's COVID-19 protocols (https://www.sinaitemple.org/covid-19/), please stay home if you are experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms or have been directly exposed to someone with Covid-19.

Bring: At least two liters of water, good hiking shoes, long pants, sun protection (sunscreen, hat), layered clothing, a snack, and of course a big smile on your face!

Meeting Point/Parking: Meet at Capri Drive & Umeo Road, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272. Free street parking is available near the intersections of Capri and Umeo or Capri and Amalfi. Or take the 602 bus from Westwood to Sunset/Capri, and walk up Capri to our meeting spot. If you are running more than 10-15 minutes late and we have already started, we'll be walking a little under a mile on Sullivan Fire Rd before taking the stairs to the left down into the canyon.

Dogs: Dogs are unfortunately not allowed on all parts of our planned route.
