Hollywood Dog Training School

2017 commemorates our 90th anniversary! We have an extremely rich history and are proud to have been the home for Toto, Rin-Tin-Tin and Lassie!lassie

Hollywood Dog Training School was established by Carl Spitz in 1927. Richard Karl bought the school in 1978, with the goal of focusing on the pet he sees as a true and natural star - the family dog. With a background in human counseling and many years spent developing his dog training techniques at locations all over the country, Rick Karl has turned Hollywood Dog Training School into a place where anyone can bring their dogs for boarding or training or Doggie Daycare. The rich and famous still come, of course, but today, they are the owners of the dogs and not the dogs themselves.

In 1983, Karl’s Kitty City was added in order to better serve our clients. We have an entire building dedicated to cats (soundproofed so the cats aren’t bothered by the dogs). While each cat has a separate “condo” for eating and sleeping, the cats - if they so choose - can spend their days in our community room, where staff is on hand at all times to make certain that no guests get feisty!
