THE PARADE is Sun., Oct. 30, 2022, 2:30 p.m. The stat/finish is at Marina Vista Park, 5355 E. Eliot St. Long Beach, 90803 (at the end of Marine Stadium; across from the fire station, by the tennis courts). The parade is on the concrete bike path that runs through the park from Colorado St. to Eliot St.

The vendor fair and pet adoption fair is in the park from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Costumed kids and adults without dogs (humans can register for FREE) will lead the parade at 2:25 p.m., followed by the dogs at 2:30 p.m.

Register to be in the human costume parade and/or dog costume parade at the red/white registration tent in the park after 1 p.m.

The parade expects 450+ dressed-up dogs and lasts about 45 minutes.

SEATING Bring your own folding chair for the second row for free, or rent one of our 450 front-row seats IN THE PARK for just $5/cash on-site, starting at about 1 p.m. Please bring correct change.

Please, no culturally insensitive costumes. Some examples include a Native American princess, a Mexican gentleman with poncho/sombrero, a Geisha, an Egyptian queen, and an Arab Sheik. If you are unsure if your costume is appropriate, it's best to avoid it. Oxford Dictionaries defines cultural appropriation: “the unacknowledged or inappropriate adoption of the customs, practices, ideas, etc. of one people or society by members of another and typically more dominant people or society.”

PARKING
There is free street parking surrounding the very large park. You can also park in the Marine Stadium parking lot, accessed from Appian Way, behind the fire station. PARKING MAP
