Eveleigh (pronounced everly) is a neighborhood restaurant and bar, where friends, community and family gather on the Sunset Strip. Our aim is to provide a fun easy-going approach to drinking and dining.
Built in 1923, originally a residence during Sunset’s orchard era, the historic structure has been reinvented into a welcoming rustic retreat. The space evokes a comfortable and relaxed feel filled with timeless character, recycled materials and repurposed design elements. As you are lead from the enchanting front garden, the reclaimed Douglas Fir floorboards salvaged from a century-old church seamlessly transition onto the back patio where the bar is highlighted by a stunning city-view back drop. The picturesque country garden setting is adorned with rough hewn picnic-style dining tables, tufted banquets, reclaimed Oak panels, lime and olive trees, and a flanking herb and vegetable garden.
Eveleighs food philosophy is a simple one that revolves around letting the food speak for itself. With our produce, we harness the best the area has to offer. We consciously source ingredients from here and abroad that have sustainable and free-range origins. The style of food draws on inspiration from southern Europe, with hints of California in a rustic, yet clean approach. Our menu is dictated by the season and around the availability of local and seasonal ingredients with a focus on simplicity and all in-house production.
Eveleighs mission is to make handcrafted cocktails that are seasonal and spontaneous with market-fresh herbs, spices, fruits and house-made syrups and infusions. This, combined with a selection of the finest small-batch handcrafted spirits available, our aim is to create revised classics that are both fun and accessible.
The wine list at Eveleigh is defined by two overarching principles: small production, and bright flavor profiles. Many of the wines featured on the list are from productions of less than 1000 cases and some of our favorites are from productions of less than 100 cases. The wine lists geographical origins are relatively well balanced between France, California, and Australia/New Zealand. The rationale for bypassing “industrial” (more than 1000 cases) production wines is to offer our guests an opportunity to have a more personal and intimate interaction with the winemaker, and thereby come to understand the wines that we offer in the context of our menu, our décor, and our service ethic.
The enthusiasm, handcrafted production, progressive approach, and lack of pretention that we find in the wine list are reflective of the overall feel of the restaurant. Design elements, food and cocktail menus, and the wine list each add elements to the overarching sense of rustic welcome, and for the guest they evoke a sense of having discovered a hidden gem.
